The Town of Fort Mill has received reports from customers of drinking water discoloration. Discoloration is reportedly a result of conditions in Lake Wylie, which have been impacted by effects of Hurricane Helene. The City of Rock Hill, which is the wholesale provider of water for the Town of Fort Mill, reports that drinking water is continuously monitored in both Lake Wylie and at the water plant to identify issues and properly treat drinking water. Rock Hill Utilities reports that drinking water currently meets all regulatory requirements. Customers can use their water, though they should consider refraining from laundering white and light-colored items until the discoloration in the water dissipates.
