Drivers should be aware of new traffic patterns during the next two weeks due to continuing construction work in the area of I-77 and its interchange with S.C. 160. The contractor, United Blythe Joint Venture (UBJV), will be making traffic changes during the following days and times:
- On Friday, May 9 and Saturday May 10, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., all traffic from I-77 southbound will be diverted up and down the ramps. There will be law enforcement and contractors present during the operation directing traffic at the ramp and the S.C. 160 intersection. There will be some lane closures on the northbound side.
- From Sunday, May 11 through Tuesday, May 13, during evening hours there will be some lane closures on both the northbound and southbound sides of I-77 and traffic could be slowed.
- On Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., all traffic from I-77 northbound will be diverted up and down the ramps. There will be law enforcement and contractors present during the operation directing traffic at the ramp and S.C.160 intersection. There will be some lane closures on the southbound side.
- From Sunday, May 18 through Tuesday, May 20, during evening hours there will be some lane closures on I-77 northbound and traffic could be slowed.
The new traffic patterns will allow for the construction of a wider bridge across I-77. Drivers should expect lane closures and short traffic stops as the work unfolds. Thank you for your patience during this work.
