The Fort Mill Police Department is actively coordinating with the York County Sheriff’s Office and the Walk for Peace organizers to ensure a safe walk for the Buddhist monks traveling through our area on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026.
On Wednesday, the Walk for Peace Buddhist monks and their peace dog Aloka will be traveling along U.S. 21 through the Town of Fort Mill limits as they continue their 120-day, 2,300-mile walk from Texas to Washington, D.C.
