[ARCHIVED] Changes to Fort Mill Recycling

Recycling Can

York County’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF) has announced they are again temporarily pausing their operations due to the current COVID-19 situation. This facility accepts recyclables from the Town of Fort Mill. Please note that any recycling placed curbside on your regular collection day will be temporarily taken to a landfill. York County encourages residents to continue with their recycling programs to ensure a smooth transition once processing can resume. The County has no intentions at this time to change the operations at the Town’s two Recycling centers (Baxter Center at 1731 Highway 160; Fort Mill East Center at 2085 Fort Mill Parkway at West Hensley Road). The Town will update the public once the MRF has resumed operations.

Although the county has suspended their recycling services at the MRF, the Town continues to operate its sanitation services as normal. These services include household garbage collection once per week, household recycling collection every two weeks, curbside collection of household items such as furniture or appliances once per week, and curbside collection of yard debris, including leaf collection, on a weekly basis. The Town provides all these important services to the residents of Fort Mill for a monthly fee of $19.
