Hearing-Impaired Smoke Alarm Program

Fire Safe SC Provides Free Hearing Impaired Smoke Alarms

During a fire emergency not hearing a smoke alarm, especially when sleeping, increases the risk of injury for anyone who is hearing impaired. This program helps to reduce that risk by providing an approved applicant with a hearing impaired alarm. This type of an alarm is commonly known as a "bed-shaker."

Applicants

To fulfill approved applicant requests, Fire Safe SC will partner with local fire departments to set up a time to install a free alarm. Availability of alarms is currently limited.
