Open Positions

The Town of Fort Mill is now accepting applications for residents to serve on several boards and commissions, including the Fort Mill Planning Commission, Fort Mill Historic Review Board, Fort Mill Board of Zoning Appeals, Stormwater Advisory Committee and the Keep Fort Mill Beautiful Committee. In order to serve on both the Fort Mill Planning Commission and the Fort Mill Board of Zoning Appeals, you must live in the Town limits of Fort Mill (click here to see if you live in the Town limits). Please note, these are volunteer positions and are each three-year terms. 

Applications are due March 18, 2026.

Join Fort Mill Board of Zoning Appeals

Are you interested in interpreting the Town's zoning ordinance? Do you have a knowledge of zoning regulations or a background in construction? If so, then you need to join the Town of Fort Mill's Board of Zoning Appeals. 


Join Historic Review BoardAre you interested in history and the preservation of your community? If so, then join the Town of Fort Mill's Historic Review Board!


Join Planning CommissionAre you looking for a way to serve your community? Then the Town of Fort Mill's Planning Commission may be what you need to join!

Applications to Serve

Board and Commission members are appointed and serve at the pleasure of Town Council.  If you would like to serve on one of our Boards or Commissions, please fill out an online Volunteer Application.   

Application forms may also be printed and submitted at Town Hall.  Please use our printable Volunteer Application Form (PDF) if you prefer to not utilize the online application form above.

Town Council reviews applications annually, typically in March or April, and additionally as needed to make new appointments.
