Birthday Cutoff

The birthday cutoff for the season is September 1st, 2025. The age of the child on that day will determine the group they should be signed up for.

Instructional Soccer (4U)

4U (Ages 3-4)

4U Instructional soccer is offered every spring and fall to children who are league ages 3 and 4 (as of September 1st, 2025). This program is a great way to introduce your child to the game of soccer. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of soccer (dribbling, kicking, and passing).

Practices and games will be held on Saturday Mornings (9:00 a.m.; 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.) at Comporium Athletic Park – Field 4 (behind the school). The first couple of weeks the teams will have practice where they will do drills to learn some of the basics. The very first week, instruction will be given by Independence Soccer Club coaches, along with volunteer head coaches.

Games will begin after the first few Saturdays, where score is not kept. The coaches will act as the referees for these games. The Town of Fort Mill will provide shirts and socks for each player. Parents will be responsible for providing cleats, shin guards, shorts, and mouthpieces (optional).

Instructional Soccer (6U)

6U (Ages 5-6)

6U Instructional soccer is offered every spring and fall to children who are league ages 5 and 6 (as of September 1st, 2025). This program is a great way to introduce your child to the game of soccer. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of soccer (dribbling, kicking, and passing).

Practices will be held on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 6:15 pm through the season. Practices will be held at Springfield Elementary School, on the fields perpendicular to Springfield Parkway. After the first few weeks, games will be held on Saturday mornings from 9:00, 10:00, or 11:00 am. Most games through the season will be held at Comporium Athletic Park – Field 4 (behind the school). There may be occasional Saturdays where games will be held at Springfield Elementary School. Scores and records will not be kept for this league. The Town of Fort Mill will provide shirts and socks. Parents will be responsible for providing cleats, shin guards, shorts, and mouthpieces (optional).

Competitive Soccer (8U through 15U)

8U - 15U (Ages 7-15)

In our 8U through 15U age groups, single-gender teams are formed (8U is 7 to 8 years old; 10U is 9 to 10 years old; 12U is 11 to 12 years old; 15U is 13-15 years old). Age determined by how old the child is on September 1st, 2025. Teams typically practice one to two nights per week for an hour each session with most games being held on Saturday and occasional weekday evenings. Practice days, times, and locations are determined by the coach that the child gets drafted by.

The games continue to grow in competition as the children get older. The Town of Fort Mill will provide shirts, shorts, and socks, as well as medals to the champions and first place teams at the end of the season. Parents will be responsible for providing cleats, shin guards, and mouthpieces (optional).

Note: We do NOT accept or guarantee any team requests in order to promote a fair and balanced league.
